1st Lieutenant Dan Choi, an Iraq veteran and Arabic linguist, announced his homosexuality on national television in March 2009. The Army responded by beginning discharge proceedings against him, as required by the law known as “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell”. Now, he travels the country, serving as a spokesperson for Knights Out, an organization of gay and lesbian West Point alumni.
This film both moved and motivated me. It begins and ends as it should–a story of a man in love. Thank you.
as a korean american female, i know homosexuality is not discussed in our culture, unless its a joke so its inspiring to see dan taking a stand.
